Kibbles And Bits

Winding down the year this week as I’m going to shut down for about ten days from Christmas through the New Year. I need a break and I need to take care of stuff. Mostly organizing what I want to do for 2011 in regards to writing, promoting, and publishing.

This has been a great month in terms of milestones as I recently had my 300th blog. I'm approaching 400 followers (something I could not have imagined a year ago this time when I was at like 25). I'm currently at 396. I'm going to randomly pick a someone from the next four followers and give a free copy of Breakthrough or a free download.

I have one more Home and Away this week with Ellie Garratt as we wrap up the VILLAIN SERIES. And Captain Ninja Alex will be here on Friday! I have to admit this has been a lot of fun and the guest bloggers have contributed much to the topic.

Last week L. Diane Wolfe on her blog Spunk On A Stick’s Tips posted an excellent article regarding Publishing Law with a couple of links that I encourage you all to bookmark. I did. These tips give much needed advice and guidance and could save you troubles and headaches down the road.

I’d like to give the Meat and Potatoes Award to the following bloggers:

Arlee Bird
Karen Lange
Clarissa Draper
Hilary Melton-Butcher
Ellie Garratt

You are all well deserving of this most esteemed award due to the beefy content of your blog. The Meat and Potatoes Award may not be the most glamorous award, but it’s beefy and it will stick to your ribs (I apologize if any of you are vegetarians).

Finally, Breakthrough is available from Amazon and Amazon Kindle. Breakthrough makes a great gift for that person you never know what to get. Or treat yourself to a story of action and adventure.

Question: What are your blogging plans for Christmas through the New Years? Are you posting or taking a break?

Congrats on the posts and followers. Great numbers. I always wanted to be able to have my post number match my followers - you know for fun, like 96th post and 96 followers on the same day. I've never been able to do it.
I’ll keep my post schedule up this week and next, then take time off until the New Year. All the posts are short for quick reads for others.

Jules, I'll make a few rounds and visit blogs, I just won't be posting myself.

That steak looks pretty good and anyone is vegetarian I'll gladly take their helping. Thanks for the award. I'll do an awards post after the first of the year when I come back.

I've got some posts lined up, but some things might just happen to pop onto my site if I happen to get online and have something special to say.

Have a great holiday and hope you get everything done..

I haven't decided on blogging during the break yet. I tend to blog when the mood strikes me so I'll probably continue to do that. :)

Hi Stephen -

Congrats on the posts and Followers!

I write my posts a month ahead and schedule them. My idea of taking a break is not answering comments or visiting other blogs. Even this is a rare occurrence.

What can I tell you? I love the blogosphere and the many wonderful writers I encounter.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Enjoy your time off--planning time is always smart.

I have not taken time in Dec in previous years, but I probably should.

Mary, thanks and Happy Holidays to you too!

Arlee, the steak does look good, doesn't it.

Jemi, I'll stop by blogs event though I won't be posting. Guess I can't stop with blogs cold turkey.

Susan, a whole month ahead? That's amazing. I usually write my blogs on the spot and I usually don't know what I will write until I sit down to do it.

Slamdunk, I do need to take a little break. I have quite a long list of stuff to get done.

I'll be taking a break soon to spend time with family and catch up on projects. Thanks for the links, and thanks again for the award!
Happy Tuesday,
Karen

Have a great break and I hope you get lots accomplished! I haven't thought about it yet, but I guess I will be taking a blogging break between Christmas and New Year's, since we're tied up with family all that week. Have a wonderful Christmas!

I think a blog break between the holidays is good. I'll likely do the same. Otherwise, I'm just keeping it steady into the new year. Excited to give your book to one of my sons for Christmas. Fun to kinda know the author.

I'm not taking a break but my blogs will be shorter. Thank you so much for the award! I'll post it tomorrow!

Taking a break sounds like a good idea. I'm thinking of taking one myself. It's been hectic and a little breather would be nice.

Congrats on passing 300 posts and on approaching 400 followers! That's such fab news!

Wow, Stephen, I see you are at 399 followers. Hope you get at least one more follower before you take your break.

Good luck to whoever the lucky winner of Breakthrough will be. I'm looking forward to reading my copy soon.

I'll be making a couple of blog posts between Christmas and New Years.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

I don't know why, but I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up with blog comments! It could be that my energy levels are slowing... or the wine consumption.

I'm going to be posting pretty much up until the 29th, when I take off to Cairo. Then I'll be dipping in, but I won't be back properly until 11th Jan. That's the plan!

Have a great Christmas and congrats on all you've accomplished!

Stephen Tremp said...

Diane, the link to your blog is muy importante for any writer.

Ellie, I'm looking forward to our Home and Away too. Its starts tomorrow!

Patricia, thanks for the well wishes and a Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Jai, a break from the hecticness (is that even a word) is overdue. Have fun on your break.

Shannon, the Meat and Potatoes Award is so bad its actually good.

Susan, should be a lot more eReaders out there in about a week.

I will be taking a break, I just cannot guarantee I wont be blogging (does that make sense?) I am addicted to blogging, I am typing with a hand brace and a doctor's order to stay away from typing and writing.
Congratulations Stephen and congratulations to your awardees
